영어의 가산 및 불가산 명사는 그 용법이 한정사와 동사 모두와 관련되어 다르므로 그 사이를 구별하는 것은 중요합니다.
가산 명사
가산 명사는 셀 수 없는 것들을 위한 명사입니다. 가산 명사는 단수와 복수형을 가집니다. 단수형은 한정사 "a" 또는 "an"을 사용할 수 있습니다. 가산 명사의 수량을 묻고 싶다면, "How many?"와 복수 가산 명사를 함께 사용합니다.

불가산 명사
불가산 명사는 숫자로 셀 수 없는 것들을 위한 명사입니다. 불가산 명사는 추상적인 생각이나 속성들 또는 너무 작거나 형태가 없어서 셀 수 없는 물리적인 것들(액체, 분말류, 기체류 등)에 대한 이름일 수 있습니다. 불가산 명사는 단수 동사와 같이 사용됩니다. 이 명사들은 보통 복수 형태를 가지지 않습니다.

까다로운 곳들
